Mindfulness based Yoga is the foundation of The Soulful Nook Yoga teachings.

Both Yoga and Mindfulness can be doorways to noticing our relationship with mind, body and soul, and through these practices we can learn tools that support us both on and off the mat - to help us gently and compassionately guide and connect us back to self.

We specialise in Vinyasa, Gentle Flow, Restorative and Long Slow Deep Yoga.

The Soulful Nook right for me?

Life happens, and we can get distracted from what we need, what we want and who we are. We get busy and can get caught up in all the different roles we play, the daily life stuff and stressors - where we can end up drifting from the very source that anchors us here - our body.

 

If you've been feeling a sense of disconnect and ready to find a way back to self, yoga at The Soulful Nook might be for you.

You may be experiencing:

  • A call to reconnect with yourself (mind, body and soul) but perhaps not sure where to start.

  • Have been feeling ungrounded or overwhelmed.

  • Life’s been ‘life-ing’ and you need some space and guidance to slow down, reconnect and gain some clarity.

  • Feeling tired and wired.

  • Find it easier to encourage and support others than you do yourself.

  • You give so much to others but find it challenging to receive/give to yourself.

  • Are looking for a way to move your body in a gentle and supportive way.

  • Are ready to explore how you can support all experiences in your life with grace and compassion, even the not so pleasant.

  • Are seeking a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can start to soften the edges of your mind and your body – creating space for more peace and balance.

What to expect

Yoga at The Soulful Nook aims to promote slowing down, more curiosity and understanding of the mind, body and soul, ultimately aiming to help you to feel more grounded and connected to self, with a sprinkle of grace and compassion for yourself and others.
 

The Soulful Nook Yoga is ideal for: 

  • Slowing down.

  • An opportunity to deepen connection with self

  • Creating curiosity of the mind, body and soul.

  • Helping you to navigate daily life with more ease, compassion and grace for yourself and others.

  • Beginner to advanced Yogi's.

  • A nurturing space to support you in showing up however you are, today.

Those that attend in the studio will have props provided such as mats, straps, bolsters and blocks, with an invitation to use these to help support your body more deeply. Using props like bolsters and blocks can also help some poses become more restorative, helping to nourish the nervous system. 

The Soulful Nook aims to offer a 6 Week Yoga Series during the school term, based on various topics/themes and feature and specialty classes throughout the year.​ We also offer sessions for private groups such as sports teams, birthdays, small businesses, women's circles and more. Please enquire within for more information.

Our Yoga sessions are delivered in-person at the studio, for those in Townsville (limited spaces), or online via Zoom for those outside of the region.
