Is this right for me?
Your body is your vessel. It carries you around day after day, but sometimes we can go for a long time without connecting to her.
Life happens, and we get distracted from the very essence of our being. Whether it's our jobs, families, the happenings of the world, past traumas, or the buildup of daily life - we can get caught up in all the different roles we play and end up drifting from the very source that anchors us here - our body.
If you've been feeling a sense of disconnect and ready to find a way back in to your body this series might just be for you.
Also, if you:
-
Feel a call to reconnect with yourself (mind, body and soul) but perhaps not sure where to start.
-
Have been feeling ungrounded or overwhelmed.
-
Life’s been ‘life-ing’ and you need some space and guidance to slow down, reconnect and gain some clarity.
-
Feel tired, short and snappy with yourself and others.
-
Find it easier to encourage and support others than you do yourself.
-
You give so much to others but find it challenging to receive/give to yourself.
-
Are looking for a way to move your body in a gentle and supportive way.
-
Are ready to explore how you can support all experiences in your life with grace and compassion, even the not so pleasant.
-
Are seeking a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can start to soften the edges of your mind and your body – creating space for more peace and balance.
What to expect
This series aims to promote slowing down, more curiosity and understanding of the mind and body, ultimately aiming to help you to feel more grounded, aware and connected to self.
This series is ideal for:
-
Slowing down.
-
An opportunity to deepen connection with self.
-
Creating curiosity of the mind, body and soul.
-
Helping you to navigate daily life with more ease, compassion and grace for yourself and others.
-
Beginner to advanced Yogi's - movement and making shapes with your body (Yoga asana's) is offered, not essential - you have full agency over your experience.
-
A nurturing space to support you in being whatever you need to be, today.
We will explore some of the pillars of mindfulness (such as patience, letting go, acceptance, trust, non-striving, non-judgment and the beginners mind), attitudes we can cultivate to help support and guide us through our everyday lives. By getting curious about these attitudes with the support of the breath and the body we can start to better understand ourselves and respond to ourselves and the world around us with more grace and compassion.
We will move gently with a combination of slow flow to warmup the body followed by more restorative yin-like poses before resting in Savasana. I have intentionally made the sessions 1hr 15mins so we can get the most juice out of our rest in Savasana - no rushing the rest here.
Those that are attending in person will have props provided such as bolsters and blocks, with an invitation to use these to help support your body more deeply. Using props can help the poses become more restorative, helping to nourish the nervous system.
We will finish the series in Week 6 with a mini Long Slow Deep session (mmm mmm my absolute fav!).
This series is guided by Emily both in-person, for those in Townsville (limited spaces), or online via Zoom for those outside of the region.
